CSD “Kostanai Regional Memorial Museum by I. Altynsarin” is in the same age with the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. I. Altynsarin is the great Kazakh enlightener, a public figure, an innovator, a scientist-ethnographer, a poet and a prose writer, one of the founders of Kazakh writing literature and literature language, a creator of Kazakh alphabet on the base of Russian graphics. The memorial museum as a center of national culture reflects rich heritage of I. Altynsarin’s innovative works.

Kostanay Regional Museum of Local History, one of the oldest in the Republic of Kazakhstan, was founded in 1915. The museum is located in the center of the city, in a building that is an architectural monument of the early twentieth century. Has a representative office in the city of Jitikara with a sector in Tokhtarovo village of the Zhitikarinsky district. The museum also includes the Department of Fine Arts, which is located in the building at: Kostanay, Altynsarin street 113.
